Some characteristics of this stadium
It has an area of 21,000 square meters and a capacity for no less than 53,331 spectators. It is mainly used by the Athletic Club.
In addition to this, it has other complementary uses: a sports innovation center and a sports medicine center, an underground athletics track, and also a municipal sports center. Sometimes it is also used as a venue for large-scale concerts.
A curious fact is that on November 5, 2015, San Mamés was awarded at the World Architecture Festival, held in Singapore, as the best newly built sports building in the world. It is because of this incredible fact that you cannot miss a visit if you decide to come to Bilbao.
