THE BEST MADRID ROUTES BY BIKE: HOW TO GET AROUND THE CITY BY BICYCLE

Cycling Green Belt Route
As its name indicates, it is a circular route that surrounds the city, with an extension of 65 km. It has almost entirely a bike lane and is very well signposted. It also offers numerous rest areas and water fountains during the tour. The most interesting thing about this route is the exuberant nature that surrounds it and the opportunity to appreciate the contrast of the different neighborhoods that it crosses.
Downtown area route
This route will allow you to visit the most emblematic places in the center of Madrid such as Plaza Mayor, Puerta de Alcalá, or Cibeles. It is a circular route that starts and ends in the Retiro, of approximately 12 km and with 40% of bike lanes.
Southwest area route
Considered one of the best bike routes in Madrid, its length is around 25 km. Although only half of it is a bike lane, in Madrid Río Park and Casa de Campo you can ride freely without traffic. The route ends at the famous Puerta de Alcalá after passing through the Plaza de España and the iconic Malasaña neighborhood.
Southeast area route
With 80% of bike lanes, this route offers extraordinary views of the city from various points such as the viewpoint of the Manzanares Linear Park.
Northeast area route
Don't forget to discover the northern part of the city by traveling this route of approximately 25 km. Along the way, you can admire the Valdebebas forest park and walk the Paseo de la Castellana, among other fascinating places.
